Sauder Village
It was a hot day, but we had fun looking at the turkeys and chickens...
grinding corn...
milking the cow...
gathering eggs and sweeping.

Sight words for Zara
Zara, your mom and dad told me how much you are liking to read words. Here is a neat way to practice some of the words.

Ladybug Song
This is a cute song about a ladybug. You can sing along. Zara, you can probably read the words, too.

Sweet Corn
I know you all love sweet corn. So do I! The sweet corn is tasselling. Do you see the tassel at the top of the stalk? That means it will soon start making an ear of corn. The corn is as tall as I am. Maybe even taller.
Here you can see the beginning of an ear of sweet corn. These are called silks. Silks are like shiny yellow hair. There is one silk for each kernel that will be on the ear of corn.
Berry Picking
Zara and Caden, we liked the pictures of you picking strawberries. Why were your mouths so red? I've been picking berries too. Raspberries. I eat a lot of them, too, when I pick them.
Doesn't this basket look a lot like the one you used to pick strawberries? Except mine has holes in the bottom. I have to put little boxes in it to hold the berries.
I made raspberry cobbler for Grandpa for supper tonight.
